How PCAP Sold This Expensive Truck

PCAP recently was given the pleasure of listing a 2019 GMC Sierra HD Denali Duramax. The owner of the truck was close to Jack and wanted to give him a shot, and PCAP didn't let the opportunity go to waste.

The time to list to sell was right under the 2-month mark, which isn't out of the ordinary for a vehicle in the $40,000 range, as this isn't as high moving as the cheaper commuter cars.

Our Process

The first thing that was done was to get the vehicle's evaluation and see if this truck was the right fit for consignment. PCAP evaluated the vehicle in fair condition as there were some dents on the back right fender and the tires were in need of replacement. These repairs are not cheap, and we took that into consideration.

After agreeing to the necessary costs and setting a fair market value of $48,000 for the sale price, we got to work. The first thing that was desperately needed was a detail. This truck was filthy, so a nice deep wash was the most important step. We then did a nice paint correction and wax.

Next was taking the truck to the necessary appointments. PCAP took the truck to Town Fair Tire and Hamilton Auto Body first. With the new tires and dents taken out, the truck was ready for some really nice pictures to follow the listing.

Getting nice photos onto Cars.com and Facebook Marketplace seemed to be the biggest winners for getting attention. PCAP emphasized having the best photos for the truck because a good photo would literally be the first thing a customer sees.

The next 2 months were spent with the annoying marketplace customers that were rude and offered numbers like $32,000, which was less than trade-in from any dealership. There were also some funny ones who couldn't tell their ass from their elbows when acting like a mechanic.

Eventually, we got our client and helped them acquire financing from a local bank at a really fair rate, and the truck was sold. Both parties were happy and satisfied, which isn't a typical feel in the auto dealer industry.

As you can see, there were a lot of moving parts to get the truck to that high level of precision and selling that was done.

The amount of hours that realistically went into the sale was a lot more than it should have been, as PCAP is learning along with our customers all the time. We are so proud of this achievement and want to thank our clients so far and welcome new ones to hop aboard today!
